I’m is currently working as the Senior Search Insight Manager at Brilliant Media, where I’ve been working on many different projects since September 2010.
The role has varied greatly, including client management, website, software and channel development, training and various other tasks. Working with a large amount of client contact; everything from proposal and strategy level all the way to understanding and assisting with the ‘grunt’ work and scheduled reporting. I work extensively, above and beyond, to complete the work that is required.
With agency experience within SEO and development since 2008, along with multiple years self-employed and testing theories before the jump was taken to make SEO a full time career.
I’m well established within the field of SEO and well versed in all other aspects of search.
SEO & Development
Hired initially as an SEO Manager; I almost instantly, progressed out of this position into the role of Senior Search Insight Manager.
This role consisted of many aspects including the development of tools and systems, for both Paid Search and Organic Search; a large part of the role was also aimed towards the integration of these channels and the development of the new search insight channel for Brilliant Media. Although this role migrated away from the standard SEO Manager role, the above were additional responsibilities, with the requirement for strategic campaign and client management still required, as well as working with the Head of SEO to acquire new business, manage members of the SEO team and ensure that best quality of work continued to be delivered.
As my first role doing marketing for an agency (previous experience working self-employed, part time and working on personal affiliate sites) this role involved the management of team members and on-going SEO work, whilst ‘learning the ropes’ of working for a media agency and dealing with blue-chip clients.
Shortly after starting this role the Head of SEO left the company, this resulted me standing in as team-leader managing all clients expectations, new SEO business, reporting and forecasting, as well as the management and training of the SEO team.
Working for four years at BAE Systems, over various departments – generally design and testing based – I quickly progressed through all aspects of the job, gaining respect and many qualifications along the way.
As part of the role I was expected to be extremely flexible towards the tasks that were being assigned, and expected to learn new tasks with short notice and to a high level of capability.
I quickly gained many skills ranging from standard project and team management all the way to specialisms in bespoke design and 3D modelling packages and complicated structural algorithms.
